Develop a lesson plan for a preschool using Vygotsky's ZPD. In an evaluative paragraph, describe how these lessons would be explained by Piaget using his view of development. Use of APA format for this assignment is limited to references only.
There are three questions within our forum this week.
1- Discuss environmental influences on early cognitive development for infants and toddlers.
2- What are notable differences for at-risk infants and toddlers?
3- How would culture differences impact this early cognitive development?
Describe Attachment and discuss the relationship between Attachment and Psychological Development in childhood. Why is it important? What happens if Attachment does not securely develop?
This week in our forum we are looking at things that impact the development of the child. We have two parts to our discussion.
Part one-
One of the things that impact a child's overall development is nutrition.
Explain why nutrition is important for child development, and how it has evolved within the family unit. Apply this concept to the lifestyle of busy parents and the impact it has had on the child, and within the family. How has the food industry responded? How has our government responded? How have schools responded both with what they serve students and also what they teach students?
Part two-
How does infectious disease and immunizations impact a child's health? What concerns should parents have? How do parents evaluate false claims, and what is the impact of false claims?
In a five paragraph essay (600 words), describe how children acquire, practice and develop language skills. Students will include a title page, reference page, with running head on all pages consistent with APA format. Abstract is not required.
When evaluating a preschool one of the things some parents will look at is academics that are taught to their child.
1- What are the most important things a parent should be looking for when deciding placement in a preschool?
2- How do parents evaluate skill development with regards to problem solving, make-believe and artistic activities within a preschool? Explain why these factors may be important for this evaluation?
Our last forum will look at social development. Please answer the following three questions in your initial posting.
1-How is social learning linked to academic learning?
2-How are schools providing for social development for children?
3-What are notable issues on gender-role development in society today and how are we as a family and society reacting?
